WINGED RECORDS
These
are motorcycles with a wing or wings attached. These wings keep the motorcycle
aloft longer. They have lifting surfaces which actually fly the motorcycle. These wings can be in the
form of a hang glider or airplane type wings, with independently controlled rudder,
elevator, flaps and/or ailerons.
These wings are not to be confused with motorcycles equipped with
attitude-correcting devices installed, such as elevators, that are located
toward the rear of the motorcycle.
Some record categories may contain a the listing of a jump performed by a
motorcycle with lifting surfaces that hold the bike and rider aloft (as
distinguished from motorcycles with attitude-correcting surfaces, which are not
in the winged category). Jumps made with motorcycles equipped with wings which
provide lift to the entire machine will be listed as a winged record.
