A jumper's best jump in a given
category and division is called his personal record. This is not to be confused
with any other jumper's jumps or anyone else's records. Historically, the words
"personal record" are often confused with "world
record". They are completely different records.
A personal record might be one jumper's personal best in a category, such as
jumping over cars.
When you hear a jumper is doing a record jump, you might ask what kind of
record it is.
