Johnny Airtime jumps the three car Mount Hood Railroad train head on. This jump was on the FOX special, Live! The World's Greatest Stunts on June 20, 1990. This jump won the Stunt of the Year award. Johnny accelerated between the rails, right on the railroad ties. He launched off a 16' high ramp. 1/2 second after he left the top of the ramp, the train destroyed the launch ramp. You can see the ramp violently twisting just above the front of the train, which is traveling at 25 mph. Johnny practiced 300 ramp to ramp jumps before doing the real deal. Mount Hood is in the distance. Photo: Jeff Werner, Incredible Features
