JA on the Whip
Tip in Las Vegas, 1988
or '89. He was the first
to throw Whips and No
Handers ramp to ramp, back in 1984.
Note the Forward Mounted Speedo (FMS)
pioneered by Johnny Airtime. Also note the pinky
on the tip of the grip. Like a fine wine,
jumping has to be tasted with an extended pinky.
JA runs no side
plates or airbox - the bike would be more affected by side
winds and could steer off course in mid-air on longer jumps when
doing Cross-ups.
