GEOGRAPHICAL RECORDS

These are records limited to a geographical area.

1. WORLD RECORD. A record is defined as "the best performance known, as in a sport: the world record in weightlifting." A world record in ramp to ramp motorcycle jumping is the best performance known in ramp to ramp motorcycle jumping in a given category in the entire history of the world. In conventional ramp to ramp motorcycle jumping, the best performance known can be measured in distance, by measuring ramp gap, total distance jumped and clear gap; however, some jumps are measured in height, in number of obstacles, in size of obstacles, and in other ways; every jump is different, and the ATA seeks to make the rules uniform for each category.

2. CONTINENTAL RECORD. This is the biggest or best jump ever done on a given continent in a given category.

3. NATIONAL RECORD. This is the biggest or best jump ever done in a given country.

4. STATE RECORD. This is the biggest or best jump ever done in a given state.

5. COUNTY RECORD. This is the biggest or best jump ever done in a given county.

6. CITY RECORD. This is the biggest or best jump ever done in a given city or town.

7. VENUE RECORD. This is the biggest or best jump ever in a given facility, venue, building, stadium, drag strip, fairgrounds, arena, race track, etc., in a given category.
