| THE AIR TIMES August 16, 2000 JOHNNY AIRTIME OPENS RAMP TO RAMP JUMPING WEBSITE STUDIO CITY, CALIFORNIA - Johnny Airtime announced the arrival of his new website, www.johnnyairtime.com today. "The purpose of www.johnnyairtime.com is to serve ramp to ramp motorcycle jumpers and to educate the media and those who love ramp to ramp motorcycle jumping", said Johnny. Ramp to ramp jumpers have never had a source to turn to for advice on ramp to ramp jumping technique, ramp design, ramp construction or proper measurement procedures. "I can't just sit by and watch a whole new generation of jumpers make the same mistakes that have been made in the past," Johnny said. " I'm helping the new generation of ramp to ramp motorcycle jumpers." NEW MEASUREMENT STANDARDS Johnny has established the Airtime Standards of Measurement (ASM) which outline proper measurement procedures for motorcycle jumps. Any jumper wishing to accurately measure his jump can get on Johnny's site and click on "Jump Measurement" and find solid methods of measuring his jumps. "Without the ASM, a jumper opens himself up for lots of controversy," said Johnny. "One jumper measured his entire launch ramp and included that in his total jump distance. That's wrong. It's time to clean up the jumping business." NEW CATEGORY STANDARDS Johnny also created the ATA Categories list, creating a place for every world record holder in every category. "Let's face it, we need to compare apples to apples," he said. "The man who breaks the ramp to ramp distance world record deserves respect. So does the man who jumps higher than anyone in history. So does the dropoff record holder. And the best female jumper in the world should get recognition as well - she shouldn't be compared to men. My goal is to break down all categories so true world record holders in every category get the recognition and respect they deserve, with their name at the top of the list. It's time for the legitimate champions to be recognized." RAMP TO RAMP JUMPING ORGANIZATION The Air Time Association (ATA) was formed to properly measure, document and maintain records on motorcycle jumps. Lax standards and controversies have been a sore spot in motorcycle jumping for decades. Jumpers can now receive an official certificate from the ATA properly documenting their jump. Pro jumping training and licenses are available, as are crew chief training and licenses and ramp design and fabrication training and licenses. JUMPING PRODUCTS AND SERVICES Johnny offers access to products and services never before available anywhere in the world. RAMPS "My ramp designs are going to revolutionize jumping", he stated. "I offer ramps and ramp designs for every form of motorcycle jumping, from freestyle to distance jumping. These ramps adhere to the Johnny Airtime 20 Rules of Ramp Design. A jumper can haul a distance ramp behind his pickup truck to location, set it up quickly and break a world record." AIR TIME MACHINES: PACKAGE JUMPERS But that's not all. "I'll be building Package Jumpers for riders looking for a brand new bike that's set up for jumping ramp to ramp", Johnny Airtime stated. These package jumpers are serious. They are two stroke, water cooled Honda CR500 motocross machines modified for each rider. You don't have to buy a Package Jumper to get one. You can buy a Honda CR500 from the dealer of your choice and then order what you need from Johnny Airtime and build your own Air Time Machine. PARTS AND MODIFICATIONS "CR500s weren't designed to accept a speedometer", says Johnny. "I've adapted them successfully to motocross bikes for 16 years and now I'm making this available to the jumping community. This modification alone will add years to a distance jumper's life and reduce his injuries tremendously." All the testing Johnny has done over the years has resulted in major safety findings with regard to ramp to ramp jumping. Johnny has designed his own prototype speedometer series and hand-picked every feature, including his "Air-O-Matic" feature, where the jumper sets the speedometer to the speed he needs to go. "I want the new jumpers to have it better than I had it," he said. "I'm doing what I can to make sure the jumpers are not lacking in any area - jumping technique, ramp design, jumping tools, the right bike and the best parts available for ramp to ramp motorcycle jumping." INFORMATION AND JUMPING ADVICE Jumpers seeking knowledge can contact Johnny at www.johnnyairtime.com and take advantage of Johnny's experience of 4,350 ramp to ramp jumps over 100 feet with no crashes. |
